85,000 sqm LEED-Platinum Textile & Garment Hub in Bangladesh EPZ: RSC Accord Fire-Safety Compliance, Zero-Ponding Sawtooth Roofs, and Fast-Track Pre-Monsoon Turnkey Erection
Engineered deep-draw 304 stainless-steel internal valley gutters with integrated secondary weir relief outlets, guaranteeing rapid sheet-flow drainage during torrential tropical cloudbursts without internal flooding risk.

Project Overview
Located inside a certified Export Processing Zone (EPZ) near Dhaka, Bangladesh, this mega garment and textile campus houses high-density automated cutting halls, sewing workshops, and export staging centers for global apparel brands. For the international garment manufacturer and general contractor, the project was bound to strict global buyer audits and tight seasonal production deadlines. Following international workplace safety initiatives (RSC Accord), Western fashion buyers mandate zero-tolerance fire-separation, structural load testing, and progressive collapse prevention before awarding clothing contracts.
The primary psychological and financial anxiety for the client was roof water leakage during torrential monsoon downpours and structural failure during buyer compliance audits. In Bangladesh’s delta climate, continuous multi-span sawtooth roofs generate massive internal drainage challenges; if interior valley gutters overflow during intense 180 mm/h monsoon squalls, water pours directly onto thousands of automated sewing lines and container-ready export apparel, causing unrecoverable water damage and bankruptcy-inducing buyer claims. Compounding this, local labor in Bangladesh lacks advanced fabrication tools; if thousands of purlins, trusses, and skylight frames arrived with drifted hole patterns, workers using oxy-acetylene torches aloft would destroy anti-corrosion coatings, spark fire risks near cotton lint, and fail third-party safety audits.
Shijie Heavy Industry delivered an integrated, export-certified structural steel solution. Combining multi-tier portal frames with specialized continuous daylighting sawtooth trusses, Shijie engineered deep-draw, multi-slope continuous 304 stainless-steel internal box gutters featuring double-weir emergency overflows. Every steel connection was pre-drilled using multi-axis CNC drilling lines to achieve 100% bolted field fit-up. Using waterproof color-coded QR tags and phased 3D container logistics matching the port crane radius, 12,500 tons of structural steel were hoisted directly off flatbeds without jobsite sorting chaos. The campus passed RSC Accord structural audits on its first inspection and completed construction 22 days ahead of the monsoon delivery deadline, securing full-capacity production for the autumn apparel season.

Monsoon-Proof Continuous Stainless Internal Gutters
Engineered deep-draw 304 stainless-steel internal valley gutters with integrated secondary weir relief outlets, guaranteeing rapid sheet-flow drainage during torrential tropical cloudbursts without internal flooding risk.
Glare-Free Sawtooth Natural Daylight Optimization
Multi-span north-light sawtooth steel trusses maximize uniform natural illumination across sewing floors, minimizing color-matching errors on textiles and slashing daytime lighting energy costs by up to 35%.
RSC Accord & LEED-Platinum Certified Rigidity
Steel frames underwent dynamic seismic and progressive collapse modeling, using factory-certified high-strength structural members to pass international compliance audits on the very first inspection.
Foolproof Pre-Engineered 100% Bolted Assembly
All connections were pre-machined using multi-axis CNC punching with guide dowels and coded with tear-proof QR barcodes, enabling local crews to erect the complex with zero cutting torches or field modification aloft.
Turning Site Challenges into Engineered Certainty
Proven technical interventions to keep your project on spec, on budget, and on schedule
Continuous multi-span sawtooth roofs generate massive internal drainage risk; monsoon rain overflows destroy container-ready apparel.
Fabricated deep-channel continuous 304 stainless box gutters with widened splash pans and exterior siphonic downspouts.
Western buyers enforce rigid RSC safety compliance; on-site welding burns coatings, creates fire hazards, and fails factory audits.
Standardized 100% pre-machined bolted connections; factory-applied high-build C4 marine coatings with cleanroom-grade edge finishes.
Tens of thousands of components easily cause site sorting chaos with local crews, stalling cranes and missing delivery dates.
Embedded color-coded waterproof QR barcodes matching erection drawings bay-by-bay, enabling direct hook-lifting off container flatbeds.
In Bangladesh, failing an RSC audit or suffering internal gutter overflows ruins garment export contracts instantly. Shijie eliminated both risks: 85,000 sqm of sawtooth steel bolted together seamlessly with zero torch cuts, holding 100% bone-dry during violent monsoon storms. Handing over 22 days early passed global buyer audits on the first pass. Pure engineering excellence.
