120,000 sqm Textile Industrial Park in Ethiopia: Modular Design and Passive Cooling
A uniform structural grid allows rapid duplication of production halls and simplifies future expansions.

Project Overview
Located in Ethiopia's industrial corridor, this 120,000 sqm park provides essential infrastructure for the garment sector. Operators require facilities built rapidly to accommodate tenants. They face practical engineering considerations: maintaining comfortable temperatures for large workforces without energy-intensive air conditioning, and ensuring consistent quality across dozens of halls. Shijie supplied a modular, pre-engineered portal frame system. Our design uses continuous natural ridge ventilators and reflective roof panels to manage temperatures via passive cooling. Applying a standardized structural grid streamlined the fabrication and shipping processes. Utilizing a fully bolted assembly method, teams erected the matrix safely, avoiding on-site welding delays. Finishing the structure 40 days early allowed tenants to install equipment promptly, supporting regional goals.

Strategically positioned skylights provide abundant natural illumination, reducing reliance on artificial lighting.
Standardized Assembly
Precision-manufactured steel components enabled a fully bolted process, minimizing skilled field welding.
Turning Site Challenges into Engineered Certainty
Proven technical interventions to keep your project on spec, on budget, and on schedule
Maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures for workers in a warm climate without inflating electrical operating costs.
Implemented passive cooling designs featuring natural ridge ventilation and reflective panels to steadily release internal heat.
Constructing a multi-building matrix efficiently while maintaining consistent quality and adhering to a strict timeline.
Executed a standardized structural design that allowed for repeatable, rapid bolted assembly across the entire industrial park.
Developing a textile park in Ethiopia requires practical, scalable infrastructure. Our priority is handing over functional halls to tenants quickly, ensuring facilities are comfortable and sound. Shijie provided a solution aligning perfectly with our needs. Walking through the park, the value of their modular design is evident; it allowed for efficient construction across multiple buildings. Their natural ridge ventilators were a smart choice, regulating temperatures while keeping utility costs manageable. By delivering prefabricated components accurately and utilizing a bolted assembly method, they helped us avoid field fabrication delays. Completing the handover 40 days early gave tenants time to install machinery. Shijie is a dependable engineering partner.
