Industrial Steel Buildings
Robust portal frames and multi-tier structures precisely engineered to support heavy overhead cranes and relentless, continuous industrial operations.
What Industrial Steel Buildings Projects Demand From the Steel
The problems clients bring us most often on this kind of project, and how the steel package answers each one.
Overhead cranes decide the frame before the price does
Crane class, capacity and bay spacing are fixed with you at design stage; columns are stiffened and corbels shop-welded for the runway, and fatigue checks are part of the calculation package.
Production lines that must not be broken by columns
Clear-span portal frames or multi-bay layouts follow the line drawing from your production planner, so column positions never cut a conveyor, a robot cell or a forklift route.
Heat, fumes and noise over the machines
Roof ventilators, louvres and skylights are located and sized at design and supplied with the envelope, so extraction and daylight arrive with the cladding rather than as a retrofit.
Plants that will grow after the first phase
Frames are detailed for future bays and end-wall extensions, with splice positions and foundation provisions agreed in the first contract so expansion does not stop production.
How Your Project Is Built
Three phases from the first drawing to handover. Move over a phase to see what happens in it and what you receive at the end of it.
Engineering & Foundation
The structure is sized in a 3D BIM model before any steel is cut. While members are fabricated in the factory, earthworks and independent foundations are poured on site in parallel from the anchor bolt templates we ship first.

- Foundations poured in parallel with fabrication
Fabrication & Erection
Columns, beams and trusses are CNC-cut, welded, tested and trial-assembled in the yard, then shipped in erection sequence. On site the frame is bolted from marked members with the erection drawings and our remote or on-site guidance.

Envelope & Handover
Cladding, insulation, openings and rainwater goods close the building; dimensional and coating records are handed over with the as-built drawings and the certificate package.

Certifications & Compliance
Every shipment leaves with the documents an auditor asks for. Scroll the row and open any certificate at full size.
Technical Parameters
What the structure is sized from, and what is fixed before fabrication.
| Parameter | What it is set from |
|---|---|
| Building format | Large-footprint portal frames and multi-storey frames with composite floors, following the process layout |
| Equipment and service loads | Equipment positions and weights, piping, ducting and cable tray loads taken from the process layout |
| Envelope | Cleanroom-compatible sandwich panels with supplier-declared U-value and fire class; openings with the maker’s declared performance classes |
| Heavy sections | Box and cruciform columns welded on submerged-arc lines, critical full-penetration welds 100% UT or MT tested |
| Site loads | Wind, snow and seismic loads calculated for the site location to the design code your project specifies |
| Execution class | EN 1090-2 EXC2 (certificate 2787-CPR-01627) |
| Steel grades | S355 / S460 to EN 10025, ASTM A36 / A992, with EN 10204 type 3.1 mill certificates traced to heat number |
| Lead time | 40 to 50 days for a typical single-building portal frame scope: 1–2 weeks to shop drawings for your approval, then 4–5 weeks for fabrication, coating and loading; larger or multi-building projects are phased by building |
| Documentation | MTRs, WPS/PQR, welder certificates, NDT and DFT reports, erection drawings and the certificate package with every shipment |
Recommended Product Systems
The structural systems we fabricate most often for this kind of project. Each opens the product page with sub-systems, parameters and FAQ.
Multi-storey steel buildings from one fabricator: thick-web H and box columns, cruciform columns, steel floor beams, composite decking and stairs for commercial and industrial frames, with embedded parts and anchor bolts shipped ahead of the steel.
Pre-engineered buildings on a steel portal frame, the rigid frame building type of every PEB catalogue: tapered H-section primary frames, cold-formed purlins, bracing and anchor bolts detailed as one system for workshops, warehouses and agricultural halls.
Steel truss structures for long-span roofs: circular pipe trusses, square tube trusses, angle steel trusses and H- or I-beam trusses fabricated as roof truss systems for terminals, stations, industrial halls and exhibition centres.
Building envelope systems quoted with the steel frame: roof and wall cladding, insulation and waterproofing, industrial doors, windows, louvers and ventilators, gutters and downspouts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you design the dry room or cleanroom?
No. We fabricate the frame and supply a cleanroom-compatible envelope with declared performance; dry-room HVAC, pressure regimes and process design stay with your process engineer, and we detail the structure to that design.
Can the upper floors carry electrode and formation equipment?
Yes, when the equipment positions and weights are in the design. Floor beams, decking and columns are sized to those loads and the composite floor is detailed with the frame.
How are welds on heavy columns verified?
Critical full-penetration welds are made to qualified procedures and 100% UT or MT tested, with a report per member issued before painting.
Can the plant be built in phases?
Yes, if the phasing is planned at design. End frames and foundations are detailed for the next phase so later bays bolt to the existing steel.
What is a realistic lead time?
Typically 40 to 50 days for a single-building scope; large multi-building plants are phased by building with shop drawings issued per phase for your approval.
Which codes do you fabricate to?
Design intent to AISC 360 or EN 1993 as your engineer specifies; execution to EN 1090-2 EXC2 under certificate 2787-CPR-01627, with AISC certification.
