PROJECT OVERVIEW

Project Overview

Deep in the rugged terrain of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, an expanding mineral and geothermal exploration venture needed a heavy-duty, self-contained workforce camp for over 250 exploration engineers and drilling specialists. The supply chain constraints were brutal: from Kilindini Port in Mombasa to the remote inland exploration site, cargo had to traverse over 600 kilometers, with the final 200 kilometers consisting of punishing, unpaved corrugated "murram" washboard dirt tracks.

The client’s most acute operational nightmare was supply chain fragility and missing components. Once you leave regional hubs like Nakuru or Eldoret, there are zero hardware stores or machine supply depots in the rift. In past projects with other vendors, a single forgotten box of specialized structural bolts, door handles, or silicone sealant tubes stalled cranes and assembly crews for four weeks waiting for air-freight replacements. Furthermore, local pastoralist workers hired for assembly spoke primarily Swahili and local dialects with zero engineering blueprint literacy, while equatorial thunderstorms risked turning conventional flat roofs into pooling leak points.

Shijie Heavy Industry implemented its certified "100% Zero-Defect Supply Chain & Visual Assembly System." Utilizing a 5-stage barcode outbound scanning verification process, every structural member, fastener, and gasket was packed with a complimentary 5% consumable redundancy kit. To eliminate language barriers, Shijie developed a wordless, Lego-style 3D exploded visual assembly manual and step-by-step video guide. Outfitted with an add-on light-gauge steel pitched roof to rapidly shed equatorial torrential rains, all 95 modular units were erected smoothly by local unskilled labor. The camp was handed over 20 days ahead of the scheduled drilling mobilization, completely defect-free.

CLIENT VOICE

In Kenya's remote Rift Valley, a single missing screw stops remote camp builds for weeks. Shijie eliminated all risk: 95 units arrived 100% complete after 600km of brutal dirt roads, assembled easily by local crews using 3D visual manuals. The pitched roof stayed bone-dry during heavy storms. Handed over 20 days early—pure reliability.
